Introductory and Orientation Period (StEOP)

The Bachelor program Business Administration has an Introductory and Orientation Period in the first semester, which is meant to give insights into the studies and its course contents as well as its requirements for the students.

All exams of this phase have to be successfully completed in order to take part in further courses or exams.

It is possible to retake StEOP exams three times (so there are four exam attempts in total). If the fourth exam attempt is unsuccessful, the admission to the Bachelor program Business Administration expires. A readmission is subsequently blocked for two semesters.

The following three module exams have to be passed in order to complete the StEOP module as a whole:

StEOP (15 ECTS)

  • Module exam Introduction to Business Administration (5 ECTS)
    • Preparation: VO Introduction to Business Administration (5 ECTS)
  • Module exam Principles of Economics (5 ECTS)
    • Preparation: VO Principles of Economics (5 ECTS)
  • Module exam Principles of Statistics (5 ECTS)
    • Preparation: Parts of the VO Principles of Statistics (6 ECTS)

Additional Information

The completion of the module exams is independent of the corresponding lectures and requires a separate registration. The participation in the lectures is, however, highly recommended as preparation for the exams.

VO = Vorlesung (no continuous assessment, no compulsory attendance)
